GitMir + Sourcegraph

Product intelligence for reasoning.
Code intelligence for evidence.

Sourcegraph gives teams and agents code search, navigation, history and analysis at scale. GitMir adds a compact product-level model that can say which behavior matters before anyone drills into the exact implementation.

KEEP YOUR EXISTING WORKFLOW.

Workflow The two products are used side by side, by a person or by the agent they run. Nothing passes directly between them.

Your stack today

What Sourcegraph already does well.

Sourcegraph

  • Searches code at the scale of every repository a company owns
  • Gives people and agents access to repositories and their history
  • Exposes programmatic code analysis to supported clients

GitMir does not stand in for code intelligence. It reasons one level above it and hands the exact question down.

The product layer

What GitMir adds

  • Which product behavior a requirement touches, before anyone searches
  • A compact product model that a person or an agent can read whole
  • Requirements and development tasks in the same place as the model
  • Product-level change across analyzed commits
The workflow

Start reasoning one level above the code.

Today

  1. Requirement
  2. Where is the implementation?
  3. Read the evidence
  4. Decide what matters
  5. Make the change

With GitMir

  1. Requirement
  2. Which product behavior matters?
  3. Where is the implementation evidence?
  4. Make the change

Both layers are needed. The product layer decides what matters; the code layer proves where it lives.

The flow

Two levels, in order

  1. Requirementwhat the team means to change
  2. GitMirwhich product behavior matters
  3. Sourcegraphwhere the implementation evidence is

A workflow map. The two products are not connected to each other; a person or a client runs both.

Product proof

See the level above the code.

The public Supabase model answers a product question and then shows the files behind the answer — the point where a code-search tool takes over.

The change on the table

What could break if subscription cancellation changes?

An example, so you can see the answer without uploading anything of yours.

What has been measured

One run, published in full.

GitMir has published one measurement, and it does not speak to this combination. It compared context systems answering the same questions about a single repository — a different thing from the workflow this page describes. The full table, every system in it and the method behind it are on the benchmarks page.

Not measured

It did not measure a stack. A Sourcegraph-assisted workflow has not been run against the same workflow with GitMir added, so this page claims no result for that combination.

Questions

What changes, and what does not.

Is GitMir a replacement for Sourcegraph?

No. They work at different levels: one answers what the product does, the other answers where it is implemented.

Do the two products talk to each other?

No. A client such as Claude Code can hold more than one MCP server at a time, so both can be sources inside your client — that composition happens on your side, and we have not tested that particular pairing.
