Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data GitMir collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using gitmir.com or the GitMir platform you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Account & contact data — name, email address, role, and the company you represent, provided when you sign up, request early access, or contact us.

Payment data — when you purchase a plan or early access we use Stripe as our payment processor. Card details are sent directly to Stripe and are never stored on GitMir servers. We retain a transaction ID, the amount and currency, and the email used at checkout.

Product usage data — pages visited, features used, timestamps, and approximate location derived from IP address. This is collected through standard server logs and first-party analytics.

Content you create — visual architectures, modules, data flows, and any other artifacts you build inside GitMir. We treat this as confidential and access it only to operate the service or with your explicit permission.

2. How We Use Information

To provide, maintain, and improve the GitMir platform and the gitmir.com website.

To process payments, send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications, early-access updates), and respond to your questions.

To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

3. Sharing With Third Parties

Stripe — for processing payments. Stripe's privacy policy applies to data they receive from you during checkout.

Email and hosting providers — used strictly to deliver our service. Each provider is bound by data-protection agreements.

Authorities — when required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GitMir, our users, or the public.

We never sell or rent your personal data.

4. Data Retention

We keep account data for as long as your account is active and for up to 24 months after closure, unless a longer period is required by law (for example tax records). Payment records are retained for the period required by financial regulations.

5. Your Rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You can also object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact [email protected].

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

6. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS), restricted access controls, audit logging, and regular backups. No system is perfectly secure — if you discover a vulnerability please report it to [email protected].

7. International Transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside your country. When personal data is transferred internationally we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

8. Children

GitMir is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be announced by email or a notice on the site.
